Day 14: Discouraged
We had our first weigh-in last night. I didn’t lose ANY weight. In fact, I gained .5 pounds, though I attribute that to water and the fact that I haven’t really pooped much in a few days. I also didn’t lose any inches. It also made me angrier at myself for splurging a little over the last couple days. I will not lie to you—I cried. The best way to cry while exercising in...
Halfway There...
It was a rough weekend. After messing up my back and staying away from boot camp for a week, I just got really depressed. I kept up with the diet but far less stringently then usual. I cheated slightly at my two work meetings. Not with sweets or anything but I did have a tiny bit of pasta salad, a few bites of potatoes au gratin, and I’m not sure what kind of sugar was in the glaze on the...
Day 8, Today's Resisted Temptation
Milk chocolates from Amsterdam. I bet they’re DELICIOUS. Argh!
Day 7, Anna's Dinner and Other Thoughts
Last night at boot camp, we were doing the very last station which involved pushing a 75 pound weight (like the kind you put on the bar for a bench press) halfway across the room and back. I was having a lot of trouble and I was halfway back when my body was like “Oh no, fuck this!” and I stopped. Then I heard an unfamiliar voice yell “Come on, Anna! You got this!” and I...
Stuff Anna Resisted This Weekend
Chocolate covered strawberries and cream puffs.
Candy dish full of M&Ms that I sat in front of for two hours.
A variety of cakes and cookies, including my grandmother’s sugar cookies, which I love.
Ice cream. I watched my husband eat a huge bowl.
Day 4, Anna's Lunch
I didn’t realize that lunch today was actually something I was supposed to cook (I threw away my diet plan because I spilled honey on it). So I defaulted to the last “high carb” day’s lunch. The turkey sandwich on a whole wheat English muffin, hummus, cucumber, onion, spinach, etc. I really like this sandwich so it wasn’t a chore. I also splurged and had some sweet...
Day 4, Anna's Breakfast
“High carb” day. Whole grain waffles—which I’ve been looking forward to all week—and turkey bacon. I’ve never cooked turkey bacon and I don’t think ANY bacon deserves to be cooked in a microwave. But I didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast at home so microwave work bacon it was. Not so bad, actually. I over cooked it because our work microwaves are...
Day 3, Anna's Dinner
After bootcamp last night, I was pretty beat. We were also pet sitting for the evening and my dog plus his little friend is just insane. They require supervision at all times so I just didn’t end up making what I was supposed to have for dinner (which I cannot remember what it was supposed to be at this current time). So, it being a “no carb” day, I ended up with lettuce wraps....
Plantar Fasciitis Won't Keep Me Down!!!
I AM ACCIDENT PRONE. Anna may argue that she’s more accident prone than I am, and I can agree that she trips and falls more than I do, however the results of my trips and falls seem to be way more severe than hers. In true Cindy Lop-her form (and true Tara form too, I suppose), I royally fucked up my left foot at Sweat Performance on Monday night. Granted, the foot has been in bad shape for 2...
Day 3, Anna's Lunch
I didn’t bring a lunch today because I was supposed to make a shrimp Caesar salad. I figured I could get that pretty much anywhere around here. I walked over to Whole Foods (good timing, as I was about to murder a co-worker) and grabbed one of their pre-made Caesars. I also got some extra grilled chicken from the salad bar to pump the protein up a bit. I forgot to take a picture until I was...
Day 3, Anna's Breakfast
First of all, let me show you what I did NOT eat:
I resisted the delicious meeting donuts. It was hard…that congealed sugar coating was calling my name. No, instead I ate my pre-planned breakfast. Since it’s a “no carb” day, that means eggs. The menu actually called for mini mushroom and turkey sausage quiches. I didn’t want mushrooms so I eliminated that right off...
Day 2, Anna's Dinner
I had been doing so well cooking but last night my luck came to an end. I tried to make tuna. It was disgusting. I was supposed to eat six ounces but I could barely stomach two. It looked like this (with pear salsa, steamed veggies, and some avocado):
I ended up eating two of the homemade granola bars later that night. I’m kind of wondering if I can just eat those all the time. It gave me...
Delicious Cake
It’s a co-worker’s birthday and I just turned down a piece of cake. I had some red pepper strips and a cheese stick instead. No matter how hard you try, you cannot make peppers and cheese taste like delicious cake. Putting the cake thoughts out of my head in 3…2…1…gone.

Day 2, Anna's Lunch
I forgot to take a picture of dinner last night. It was Turkey and Spinach Manicotti. However, I couldn’t find any whole wheat manicotti so I ended up with penne and made more of a baked ziti type thing instead. I’m also having it again for lunch. My protein and carbs are all messed up today. I was SO starving when I woke up that I couldn’t wait until I got to work, I had to eat...
Day 1, Anna's Lunch
Whole wheat English muffin, 2 tablespoons of hummus, spinach, cucumber, red onion, 3 ounces of oven roasted turkey breast (sliced “ultra thin”), and one apple.
Goals for this meal (high carb day): 25g protein, ~40g carbs.
Actual meal: 17g protein, 37g carbs. (240 calories)
Taste: YUM.
I should have twice the protein but 6 ounces of turkey was ridiculous. I can barely fit the...
Day 1, Anna's breakfast
(I figure that if I post pictures of my meals, you’ll know I’m not lying when I say I’ve eaten them!)
2 eggs, scrambled, 2 slices low-fat mozzarella cheese, 2 whole wheat tortillas, 2 tablespoons of salsa.
Goals for this meal (high carb day): 25g protein, ~40g carbs.
Actual meal: 23g protein, 32g carbs. (417 calories! Yikes!)
ETA: I could only eat 3/4 of it. Nutritionals...
Day One
First off, I can post from my phone so that’s cool.
Otherwise, I’m kind of freaking out. The math I have to do for this meal plan is pretty difficult. I’m rushed right now because I have to make breakfast and I don’t know how to make eggs. I also have to be at work an hour early so I can make it to bootcamp this afternoon. I’m sleepy and cranky and ready to give up already. I don’t like eggs. Or...
Proof and Promises
This, right here, is proof that Tara and I went to Bootcamp. Am I smiling or grimacing? Who, or what, is Tara staring at? What the hell is Kyle even doing?

This was Saturday morning. My quads are still KILLING me! The rest of my body feels okay though. I’ll admit that I totally indulged in a few beers and some macaroni and cheese on...
