This, right here, is proof that Tara and I went to Bootcamp. Am I smiling or grimacing? Who, or what, is Tara staring at? What the hell is Kyle even doing?

This was Saturday morning. My quads are still KILLING me! The rest of my body feels okay though. I’ll admit that I totally indulged in a few beers and some macaroni and cheese on Saturday night and binged on Red Robin Sunday night. I used the fact that we had not been sent the diet plans yet as an excuse. Well, my stomach hurts and I feel like my jeans are about to bust at any moment. This is as good of an incentive as anything, right?

Bootcamp was pretty awesome. I was proud of both Tara and myself for participating in just about every minute. I know I had to take a few 10-20 second breaks every now and then. Saturday will have been the hardest day. Regardless of whether the rest of the month’s bootcamps are more physically or emotionally demanding, the hardest part is always starting something scary and new. But we did it and we kicked ass and we had a great time. We felt really proud of ourselves afterwards. We just have to keep going—and we don’t have any excuses now. We cannot let ourselves start making any.

We got our diet plans today. We have two from which to choose. Personally, I haven’t decided yet. One has a more overall calorie restrictive focus, the other is more centered around calculating the right amount of protein and carbs for your body. I am leaning toward the former right now only because I do need some sort of numerical guidelines. I’m going to start following mine tomorrow morning and go grocery shopping tonight. But I will make sure to eat a salad or something comparably healthy for lunch and dinner today. To be honest, I’m so freaking bloated over the weekend that eating anything junky makes me a little sick to my stomach.

OMG, my quads hurt SO BADLY. I just wanted to mention that again.

ETA: I would also like to note that, in the above picture, we are supposed to have our right foot on the OUTSIDE of our right hand. This was something I managed to have a huge problem with. Tara, not so much. She was the queen of flexibility. It was, as Kyle said, “legit.”
